WATCH: Blake Money walks off the mound after strikeout before umpire's call
LSU baseball started off their season with a series sweep of Western Michigan and a signature moment for Blake Money after a late strikeout. Money came in to relieve Ty Floyd in the eighth inning, delivering a quick inning by retiring the side in order.
After the final out of the inning, Money knew his stuff was working as he walked off the mound confident in a strikeout before the umpire even rang the batter up.

Baseball season is back and moments like Money’s strikeout flair show how good it feels to be winning games for the Tigers fans. LSU is searching for their first appearance in the College World Series since 2017 this season, and a series sweep to open the year is the right way to build that momentum early.
Money came in to finish the game and started dealing early, finishing the W Michigan side with just seven pitches and the strikeout shown in the video. Although he managed to close the game with nearly as much efficiency in the ninth, the Broncos got some revenge for the showmanship before the game was over.

Ben Campos came in to pinch hit for the first at-bat of the ninth, and delivered a home run shot on the second pitch he saw. The lead remained 9-2 despite the home run and Money closed out the game with two more strikeouts for three on the outing.
LSU won the series with 24 total runs over the three games to just five from Western Michigan, and will attempt to keep their bats hot over the next month until they begin SEC play against Texas A&M on March 17. The road series with the Aggies will go a long way to setting the tone for this season, as they prepare to finish higher than fourth in the conference for the first time since 2017.
