Brian Kelly addresses the return of Joe Foucha to the line up

LSU safety Joe Foucha is set to make his Tigers debut on the road against Auburn this Saturday after missing the first four games of the season thanks to suspension.
Head coach Brian Kelly discussed Foucha’s return, noting that the Arkansas transfer won’t miss a beat thanks to the fact that he’s been practicing with the team since the offseason.
“He has been actively involved. He has been involved in any articulation between our offense and defense that hasn’t involved game plan, which is quite a bit,” Kelly said Monday. “Every day we’ll have some 11-on-11 work where there is no, hey, we’re getting ready for New Mexico or we’re getting ready for Mississippi State. He is involved in that. He is in our defensive structures.
“When we start to, over the past month, when we got ready for team time for our opponent, he would come over on to scout. He was a pain to deal with because he was so good playing so hard as a scout team member that he made us better, so I have been able to firsthand see his action on a day-to-day basis, and he will be ready to play right away.”

Foucha missed the first four games of his LSU career thanks to an academic suspension based on transfer credits from his time at Arkansas, where Foucha had spent the last four years. Starting 33 total games for the Razorbacks, Foucha totaled 230 tackles, 2.5 sacks, 12 pass deflections, and four interceptions throughout his time in Fayetteville.
Earlier in the week, Foucha responded to a tweet reporting his return with a pair of photos showcasing how excited he is to get on the field for LSU this season.
Kelly will look to factor Foucha into the Tigers’ lineup for this weekend’s matchup against the Tigers, which is set to kickoff at 6 p.m. CT live on ESPN.
