Brian Kelly announces academic achievement by three players

LSU head coach Brian Kelly has announced an academic achievement for three players on the football team. Ali Gaye, Nick Storz, and Jaray Jenkins are all set to graduate and earn their degrees.
Ali Gaye immigrated to the United States from The Gambia. He came to LSU in 2020 after stops at Arizona Western and Garden City Community College. Nick Storz, a two-sport athlete, was drafted by the Detroit Tigers in 2017. He will be earning a graduate degree. Finally, Jaray Jenkins is a former three-star wide receiver who is expected to be a big producer for the Tigers in 2022.
LSU opens its first season under Brian Kelly against Florida State on September 4, 2022.
Brian Kelly has had a lot to learn at LSU
Brian Kelly has had a long and successful career as a college coach. That doesn’t mean that he hasn’t had his own lessons to learn, especially as he adjusts to the SEC and LSU.

Speaking to the media, Brian Kelly explained the number one thing he’s learned since taking his new job.
“I think it’s recruiting,” Brian Kelly said. “I think you start understanding recruiting is 24/7. I mean it is every single day. There’s not a day off. I FaceTimed three kids already. It’s total immersion. And you know what? I don’t mind it because it’s a little bit different because you’re in it earlier and you’re talking to them earlier in this phase. My home is point-zero-eight miles from campus and it’s intentional, because you get unofficial visits. So that whole process is a little different, but you’re in it differently from that standpoint. It’s all in, so it’s been fun.”
