Brian Kelly congratulates LSU summer graduates in football program
LSU Tigers head coach Brian Kelly recently congratulated four Tigers within the football program who graduated and earned their degrees over the Summer.
While addressing media members following a team scrimmage on Saturday, Kelly praised offensive lineman Miles Frazier, defensive lineman Jacobian Guillory, edge rusher Bradyn Swinson, and long snapper Slade Roy for graduating.
“We had some graduates yesterday,” Brian Kelly said. “Really proud of them. We had four, in particular, and like anything else, it’s important that we take a moment and talk about them as well. We talk so much about championships but we want to talk about the graduates.”
Of the players who graduated, Guillory was the highest-ranked prospect, coming to LSU as a four-star recruit in the Class of 2020, according to the On3 Industry Ranking. A native of Louisiana, he has 39 career appearances with the Tigers.
Frazier, Swinson, and Roy all came to LSU as transfers. Frazier began his career at FIU, transferring to LSU ahead of the 2022 season. Now, he’s entering his third season as a starter long the Tigers’ offensive line. Swinson, meanwhile, came in from Oregon. It will be his second season with the Tigers after playing in 12 games last season. Similarly, Roy began his career at ECU before transferring to LSU ahead of the 2022 season. Since then, he’s acted as the long snapper on both kicks and punts.
“Miles Frazier, Jacobian Guillory, Bradyn Swinson, and Slade Roy were four of our graduates that we’re really proud of and they were able to graduate yesterday and spend some time with their families, and we’re certainly excited for them,” Kelly said.

“Again, what they’re gonna be able to do with that degree from LSU is going to be able to open up doors for them for the rest of their lives. So, just a couple of notes there that I wanted to pass on to everybody. Thanks for hanging with me on that.”
Brian Kelly sends condolences to family of longtime broadcaster Ed Daniels
Longtime Louisiana sportscaster Louisiana sports broadcaster Ed Daniels recently passed away, prompting Brian Kelly to share his condolences.
“I hate to open up the press conference with bad news, but it is with a heavy heart that we pass on our condolences to the Daniels family. We lost a great one with Ed. Lost his battle here the other day, and I think we all know him as a passionate sports broadcaster here in the state of Louisiana and the work that he did was incredible. Whether it was high school, college or the pros,” Kelly said.
“Last time I got a chance to be with him, it was SEC Media Day. Unlike some of you elitists in here, he was carrying his own camera – I’m kidding. He had his camera, and he was actually waiting for a couple of the guys. But that’s who he was. I only knew him for a couple of years, but certainly for those who knew him longer, he certainly will be missed.”
