Brian Kelly might be on the move to LSU, but his daughter Grace is staying in South Bend as a student. In a Tik Tok post, Grace Kelly made light of her current situation.

“When you still have to graduate from Notre Dame in five months but your dad already left for LSU,” she wrote.

Kelly was announced as the Tigers’ 34th head coach on Tuesday. He left behind a Notre Dame team fighting for a spot in the College Football Playoff following an 11-1 season. In 12 years, he finished with a 92-39 record.

Grace Kelly also made some supportive posts on social media about her father’s new job. She shared some photos with her family at Tiger Stadium on Dec. 1 captioned “feels like home.”

With his arrival in the Bayou, Kelly takes over for a program that fired head coach Ed Orgeron less than two seasons after winning a national championship. Oregon was 51-20 overall with the Tigers, but just an even 11-11 over the past two seasons.

LSU finished the regular season 6-6 with a 3-5 record in the SEC. Orgeron announced after his final game with the Tigers this past weekend he will not be coaching in the bowl game.

“I could not be more excited to join a program with the commitment to excellence, rich traditions, and unrivaled pride and passion of LSU Football,” Kelly said in a press release. “I am fully committed to recruiting, developing, and graduating elite student-athletes, winning championships, and working together with our administration to make Louisiana proud. Our potential is unlimited, and I cannot wait to call Baton Rouge home.”

Prior to joining the Irish, Kelly transformed Cincinnati into a football powerhouse, winning Big East titles in 2008 and 2009. In three years at Cincinnati, the Bearcats won 34 games and appeared in the Orange and Sugar Bowls. In 2007, Kelly led Cincinnati to the school’s first-ever 10-win season with a 10-3 mark and a win in the PapaJohns.com Bowl.

As he attempts to find the same success with the LSU, Brian Kelly can be thankful for the support of his daughter and family.
