LSU coach Brian Kelly got into it with receiver Chris Hilton on the sidelines in Saturday’s contest against Florida. Cameras captured Kelly yelling in the face of Hilton after a play, and some on social media started to speculate as to what the coach was saying.

Baton Rouge-based reporter Hunter McCann posted video of the interaction on X, formerly Twitter. He also gave his best guess as to what Kelly was saying to his player. You can view the moment below and decide for yourself.

Regardless of what was actually said, it’s clear that Kelly was angry with the receiver. Hopefully the pair was able to work things out heading into halftime, where the score is tied at 10.

Hilton was held without a catch in the first half. For the season, he has only two catches for a total of 36 yards.

Chris Hilton is a redshirt junior who is in his fourth season at LSU. He had his best season in 2023 when he appeared in 11 games to finish with 13 catches for 225 yards and a pair of touchdowns.

The receiver was a four-star prospect in the 2021 class out of Zachary (LA) High School. He ranked as the No. 79 overall player and No. 13 receiver in the cycle according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

Florida trolls Brian Kelly over pounding table after upset win over LSU

Saturday night, Billy Napier got a signature win as Florida defeated LSU at The Swamp. Afterward, the Gators’ social media team trolled Brian Kelly, using his Week 1 press conference after the loss to USC, when he pounded a table.

Kelly lamented that season-opening loss and slammed the table while expressing his frustration with the same issues he saw coming up. Florida used a GIF of the viral clip and encouraged the LSU coach to avoid breaking the tables in his postgame press conference after Saturday’s game.

It marks the second straight loss for LSU, which fell to Alabama at home last week. But for Napier and Florida, it’s one win closer to bowl eligibility against the toughest schedule in the nation. Most importantly, according to On3’s Andy Staplesno podiums were harmed in the making of Saturday’s press conference.

On3’s Nick Schultz contributed to this report.
