The Beloso family has gotten their money’s worth in Omaha with how their kin, LSU 1B Cade Beloso, has played in the College World Series. However, Beloso’s father, Rodney, has also made some noise of his own during the trip.

Beloso Sr. decided to grill up some gator at his tailgate during the Tiger’s championship series with Florida in the MCWS. Then, ahead of the game, Beloso asked ESPN’s Kris Budden if she had gone out to the parking lot and eaten a piece for herself based on her report on today’s broadcast for Game 2.

“I talked to Cade about it when I came in to the dugout to start the game,” Budden said. “He looked at me and said, ‘Did you see my dad? Did you run into him? Did you get some Gator?’. He goes, ‘My dad, right now, is in his prime living his best life out here.'”

Through six full games in Omaha, Beloso has batted 0.364 in 20 at bats. That includes eight hits, including two home runs, that have brought in six runs for the Tigers.

One of Beloso’s home runs came in one of their win or go home matchups with Wake Forest. The other ended up being a winning one versus Florida in 11th inning in the first game of the final series.

Still, for as much fun as his son is having, Mr. Beloso might be having more so. The question now is whether or not the Tigers can pull off a comeback win on Sunday or will have to play again with everything on the line on Monday.

More on Cade Beloso’s father’s gator grilling ahead of College World Series final

LSU designated hitter Cade Beloso has been on fire throughout the Men’s College World Series. Now after his son metaphorically grilled Florida on Saturday, his father is literally grilling Gators on Sunday.

Rodney Beloso is grilling a 25-pound alligator before Game 2 of the Men’s College World Series in a parking lot next to Charles Schwab Field in Omaha.

If the Tigers win on Sunday, it will be the program’s first title since 2009. LSU has won six Men’s College World Series titles in its program’s history. The Tigers last made the finals in 2017 when they lost to Florida. They are hoping to lift the trophy once again, this time in head coach Jay Johnson‘s second season leading the team.
