CJ Daniels injury update: LSU WR status revealed vs. Texas A&M
CJ Daniels walked into Kyle Field as a game time decision, being listed as such on the final injury report from the SEC. The LSU wide receiver attempted to play but is not going to return in the second half. He was seen with a walking boot on his left leg on the Tigers sideline.
“LSU receiver CJ Daniels is out,” Wilson Alexander of The Advocate said via X. “He has a walking boot on his left leg.
Saturday was the seventh game Daniels has played in this season. Entering the day, he had caught 27 passes for 325 yards but not been able to get in the end zone quite yet. Daniels did secure two receptions against Texas A&M for 17 yards, with a long of nine yards.
Unfortunately, he will not be able to finish the game. Quarterback Garrett Nussmeier luckily has a lengthy list of offensive weapons and should be able to operate without Daniels in the rotation.

But moving forward, there will be questions about Daniels’ status moving forward. LSU does have a bye week coming up, the second one of the season. There will be some time for the entire team, not just Daniels, to rest up before getting back onto the field.
Next one is an important one, with Alabama coming to Baton Rouge for a massive showdown. No matter how the Texas A&M game winds up finishing, there will be serious SEC and potentially even College Football Playoff implications on the line. Having a player such as Daniels healthy can completely change the game, especially against a secondary that has struggled at times in the Crimson Tide.
Until then, getting healthy is the top priority. More information on Daniels is sure to come from head coach Brian Kelly whenever he speaks following the game.
