Class of 2024 cornerback Bernard Causey of New Orleans (LA) John F. Kennedy High announced his commitment to LSU Tuesday afternoon.

The 6-foot-1, 160 pounder was previously committed to Ole Miss.

“LSU is my hometown team,” Causey said. “Me being a hometown hero for my family, friends, and the community stands out. I also have access to the resources that I need to succeed.”

His relationship with the coaching staff and their plan for him played a role in his decision as well.

“Me and the coaching staff have been locked in,” he said. “I’m really locked in with coach Frank. He comes from where I do, so he knows how it is coming up. They plan on using me as an open field cornerback.”

The Bayou State cornerback joins coach Brian Kelly and the Tigers’ top 12 class in the 2024 team rankings. He is accompanied by four-star tight end Trey’Dez Green, four-star safety Dashawn McBryde, and others.
