Darius Days reveals NBA Draft decision in social media message
LSU forward Darius Days will enter the 2022 NBA Draft, he announced via his Instagram on Wednesday. Days just finished up his senior season with the Tigers, but had a fifth year of eligibility remaining if he wanted to use it.
Days played and started in 33 games for LSU this past season, finishing second on the team with 13.7 points along with 1.5 steals and a team-high 7.8 rebounds. A former four-star prospect in the 2018 recruiting class, Days was a part of three NCAA Tournament teams in his four seasons with the Tigers.
“I want to thank God, who is the head of my life,” Days wrote in his Instagram post. “Secondly, I want to thank my family for helping me on this journey. I also want to thank the coaching staff that helped me develop into the person that I am today. Lastly, thanks to Baton Rouge for all the love, support and life-long relationships. You welcomed a small country kid from Raleigh, Florida, into Tiger Nation!
“However, with that being said, I will be entering the 2022 NBA Draft and hiring an agent. Forever LSU and Boot Up!”

Days ranked as the No. 65 overall player in the class of 2018 according to On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He chose to attend LSU over offers from Arkansas, North Carolina, Louisville and many others.
Throughout his four-year college career, Days averaged 10.3 points, 6.5 rebounds and one steal per game. It will be interesting to see whether he eventually changes his mind, as he is not currently projected to be picked according to many experts. However, his age could also be a factor.
It could be a long year for LSU basketball next season. The Tigers fired coach Will Wade just before the NCAA Tournament started this past season amidst an NCAA investigation. They lost in the first round and the fallout since has been brutal. In addition to Days, LSU also lost seven players to the transfer portal thus far.
