LSU defensive lineman Dilan Battle has entered the NCAA transfer portal, On3’s Pete Nakos has learned. He enrolled at the school in January as part of the Tigers’ 2025 recruiting class.

Battle went through spring practice with LSU after signing with the program during the early signing period. He will now head to the portal with all four years of eligibility remaining.

Battle played high school football at Arlington (TX) Mansfield Timberview, where he was a three-star prospect. He was the No. 653 overall player from the 2025 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

The On3 Transfer Portal Instagram account and Twitter account are excellent resources to stay up to date with the latest moves.

Dilan Battle is the 23rd LSU player to leave this transfer cycle. The portal officially closed Thursday, but schools have up to 48 hours after that date to put names in after receiving notice from the player.

LSU has put together one of the top transfer classes in the country this year with 16 commitments. The Tigers currently sit at No. 3 in the On3 Team Transfer Portal Index with a group headlined by former Kentucky wide receiver Barion Brown – the No. 15-ranked player to enter the portal this cycle, according to the On3 Industry Transfer Rankings.

LSU isn’t done adding yet, either. On3’s Pete Nakos reported the program is trending toward a defensive linemen and more as the offseason continues.

During spring practice, Brian Kelly spoke highly of where LSU’s roster was ahead of the spring window. He predicted things would quite down a bit, but didn’t rule out more additions.

“I like our roster right now,” Kelly said. “It wouldn’t surprise me if we didn’t have anybody in the portal on either side, either leaving our program or adding. If you ask me right now, I would be happy to take this roster right into May on both sides of it. Maybe that’s fool’s gold. Maybe that’s wishing more than it is anything else. But I like what we’ve done with this roster. I like the development of it.

“Not all of that is in my control obviously. But I can tell you we’re not actively saying, ‘We’ve gotta have this. We’ve gotta have that.’ We feel good about our roster. If something shows itself that is an incredible opportunity, we’re certainly going to investigate anytime that we can help our football team, and so we’re always going to be looking to help our team. But it’s not like it was obviously in January.”
