Dylan Crews says playing postseason at home was 'unbelievable'
LSU star outfielder Dylan Crews is winding down on his college baseball career. The potential No. 1 pick in the upcoming MLB Draft, Crews knows his days playing at home at Skip Bertman Field at Alex Box Stadium are numbered.
That likely made this weekend’s Baton Rouge Regional all the more special for Crews. Not only was it potentially the last time Crews stepped on the field in front of the Tigers fanbase but it was also his first time playing in the NCAA Tournament at home.
“It was unbelievable,” Crews said after the team advanced to the next round of the tournament. “I think this was just the best — the atmosphere was the best I’ve seen since I’ve been here so far. It was awesome. I think the players lived up to it, too. They enjoyed every bit of it. It was great to see everybody out there. It was awesome.”
The fifth overall seed in the NCAA Tournament, LSU hosted Oregon State, Sam Houston and Tulane this past weekend for regional play.
Crews had himself a monster weekend for the Tigers. He was 8-for-13 at the plate with two home runs, four RBI, five runs scored and three walks.

The Tigers won all three of their games at the regional, beating the Green Wave once and the Beavers twice to advance to the next round of the tournament. Crews said the team tries to have a lot of fun on the field.
“A deeper will to win. A deeper will to compete with my teammates,” Crews said. “Just go out there and try to have as much fun as I possibly can with these guys.”
Luckily for Crews, he still has one more opportunity to play in Baton Rouge in his college career. The Tigers are hosting SEC foe Kentucky this upcoming weekend at the Baton Rouge Super Regional.
The Wildcats advanced out of the Lexington Regional, where they beat West Virginia, Ball State and then Indiana twice to make it to the Super Regionals.
