LSU did what they needed to do in the Baton Rouge Regional as the nation’s No. 5 seed in the NCAA Tournament. They were able to do so because, frankly, Tiger OF Dylan Crews says he and his teammates want to win more on top of just having more fun.

Crews explained LSU’s sweeping start to the NCAA Tournament after they advanced to the Super Regionals this weekend. He said the Tiger’s will to win and compete is a major plus on top of the fact that, for him, they have a ton of fun out on the field.

“A deeper will to win. A deeper will to compete with my teammates,” Crews said. “Just go out there and try to have as much fun as I possibly can with these guys.”

“I don’t know – The more fun I have, I guess the better I play,” said Crews. “That’s what I try and do.”

Few players have had more fun than Crews this season as the first ever consecutive SEC Player of the Year. He was a weapon offensively for LSU as he’s batting a career high .432 to go along with 17 home runs and 63 RBI. He’s also one of the nation’s best at getting on base with a career-best .573 OBP.

Still, he’s just one cog in the LSU machine that has won 46 games this season. That included an undefeated stretch over last weekend with a 7-2 win over Tulane and a pair of wins over Oregon State by a combined score of 19-12.

In the end, Crews kept it very simple about why LSU has been able to continue their winning ways. Now, heading into this weekend against Kentucky, the Tigers will focus on doing more of the same in order to advance to the College World Series.

Dylan Crews reacts to Paul Skenes’ highlight catch: ‘One of the coolest things I’ve ever seen’

It’s not easy to impress a legend. Nonetheless, LSU pitcher Paul Skenes did just that.

In LSU’s comfortable 7-2 victory over Tulane on Friday, Skenes made a highlight play you only see in video games. With a man on first base in the top of the fifth inning, Skenes threw a nasty 84 mile-per-hour sinker.

Surprisingly, the Tulane batter found the ball, smacking a line drive at Skenes’ legs. Instead of panicking, the 6-foot-6 stud calmly lifted his leg and snagged the heater before proceeding to throw out the runner at first. Raw swagger.

LSU superstar Dylan Crews was stunned by the standout moment.

“That was one of the coolest things I’ve ever seen in my life. I have, like, a straight lineup shot with it, so I was one of the ones that saw it before the replay where he caught it in between his legs. My initial reaction was hands over the head, I was, like, ‘That was sick,’” Crews said following the win.
