Early LSU odds: 2024 Point spreads released for Tigers vs. USC, Alabama
LSU‘s ReliaQuest Bowl victory over Wisconsin on New Year’s Day secured their 10th win of the 2023 season, with head coach Brian Kelly now boasting back-to-back 10-win seasons in his first two years as the Tigers head coach. But what will be in store for LSU in 2024 in a new look Southeastern Conference?
LSU’s 2024 football schedule has been released, featuring exciting non-conference matchups, classic SEC showdowns, and a regular-season finale against a program new to the SEC.
The 2024 season may be a long way away, but FanDuel Sportsbook has already released the point spreads for two of LSU’s marquee matchups of the season, giving fans some insight on Vegas’ early expectations for the 2024 Tigers.
The two LSU games that FanDuel has released point spreads for are against USC and Alabama, with the Tigers opening up as 6-point favorites (-6) over the Trojans for their season opener and 1.5-point favorites (-1.5) over the Crimson Tide.
LSU will host USC in one of the most exciting, highly anticipated games in the opening week of the college football season. Both programs are staples in college football with rich tradition and history, but have only squared off twice ever ahead of their 2024 matchup. The series between the Tigers and the Trojans is split at 1-1, with LSU coming out on top 23-3 in their last matchup which dates back to 1984.

Both LSU and USC will be replacing Heisman Trophy-winning quarterbacks next season, with Caleb Williams and Jayden Daniels recently declaring for the 2024 NFL Draft.
There’s no question that the next starters under center will have some big shoes to fill, but fans may have gotten a sneak peek at the future of the position in each team’s respective bowl games with Williams and Daniels opting out. USC’s Miller Moss threw for 372 yards and six touchdowns in his first start and LSU’s Garrett Nussmeier threw for 395 yards and three touchdowns in his, with both QBs leading their teams to bowl victories to close out the season.
LSU’s annual matchup against the Crimson Tide will look a little bit different next season as well, serving as the first time that Nick Saban won’t be on the sidelines for Alabama since 2006 following his recent retirement.
Kelly is 1-1 against Alabama in his two matchups against the Crimson Tide since becoming LSU’s head coach, entering each game as an underdog. But early in the offseason that’s not the case for this year’s rivalry game, as the Tigers will host a new look Alabama team led by Kalen DeBoer on November 9.
