Ed Orgeron’s seat was getting warmer after a home loss to Auburn. Now, following a 42-21 drubbing at the hands of Kentucky, that’s changed — Orgeron’s seat is scorching hot.

In his post-game press conference, Orgeron answered how he blocks out the noise as his seat’s temperature gets turned up.

“I’m not going to have a bad day at LSU,” Orgeron said. “I’m the head coach of LSU. I love being the coach here. Is it tough? Yeah but I’m not going to feel sorry for myself. I never will, that never will happen.”

While Orgeron may have a positive outlook no matter what, it’s hard to believe Tigers fans feel the same way. So far this season, there’s been too many bad days for LSU fans.

Entering yesterday’s game, Kentucky was undefeated and LSU was backing in following a home loss. Still, some believed the Tigers were good enough to beat the Wildcats — or at least keep the game competitive.

Once again, the Tigers simply were ill-prepared — leading to a Kentucky domination.

Orgeron: ‘Tough night for the Tigers’

Moreover, Orgeron mentioned yesterday was a “Tough night for the Tigers.” In addition to a huge loss, LSU gave up a whopping 330 yards rushing.

However, it was Orgeron’s post-game comment about the Kentucky rushing game that caused a stir — when he said he was “surprised” by the Wildcats rushing game.

Entering Saturday, Kentucky’s Chris Rodriguez had 104 carries for 621 rushing yards — leading the SEC with an average of 124.20 yards per game. He’s been their bell-cow, and the focal point of their offense.

Still, apparently Orgeron didn’t expect Kentucky’s rushing game to be effective. Of course, it led to the LSU head coach being dragged all over Twitter — comments about his preparation and carelessness all over the place.

The Tigers’ play on the field is turning up the heat on their head coach. However, Ed Orgeron’s preparation may be the straw that breaks the camel’s back.
