Ed Orgeron fires back at obnoxious caller on his radio show

What started as a seemingly harmless birthday wish went south very quickly when an alleged LSU fan called into the “Ed Orgeron Show” on Thursday.
The caller named “J-Boy” joined the show to talk about special teams but first asked the LSU coach to wish his sister, who he referred to as “Bey-Bey,” a happy 20th birthday. Orgeron happily did, and the caller responded with an off-color joke about his “little blonde” sister that harkened back to a viral story last year involving Orgeron and a blonde woman he appeared to be involved with at the time.
They immediately cut the caller off following the joke, but after an awkward pause, Orgeron responded with a snarky answer.
“Down on the Bayou we got a nice little fishing hole for people like that,” Orgeron said as clapping is heard in the background.
Orgeron and his wife are in the middle of a divorce after 23 years of marriage. They filed for the divorce in February 2020.
Orgeron hot seat talk is heating up
After a 3-2 start with losses to average-at-best UCLA and Mississippi State teams with a sputtering Tigers offense, Orgeron’s job is on the ropes.
Earlier this week, CBS writer Dennis Dodd updated his 2021 hot seat rankings, and Orgeron is firmly in the “start improving now” category, which matches his preseason situation.

Dodd opened the year saying LSU would need to start 3-1, and to their credit, they did. However, the schedule certainly doesn’t get any easier from here. The Tigers next five games are against Kentucky, Florida, Ole Miss, Alabama and Arkansas. All five teams are ranked. It appears a Nov. 20 game against Louisiana-Monroe is the only surefire win remaining for Coach O, as their closer against Texas A&M will not be a cakewalk.
Additionally, LSU is still stuck in a world of legal trouble, and Orgeron is involved. He is a defendant in a $50 million Title IX lawsuit claiming the head coach knew about and failed to report the alleged rape of a former LSU student by then-running back Derrius Guice.
A program that is 8-7 since winning a national championship in 2019 combined with the cultural and legal turmoil surrounding the team is a recipe for a firing, especially at a place with the tradition, history and fanbase LSU has.
Orgeron will need to dazzle in the coming weeks to keep his job. There is no shortage of opportunities to do so.
