Ed Orgeron gives oddly specific details on plans following LSU win over Texas A&M
Ed Orgeron is not waiting long to jump into the next phase of his life. The former LSU head coach picked up his final win with the program Saturday night in Death Valley, a comeback win over No. 15 Texas A&M.
Shortly later in his press conference, Orgeron announced the game would be his last with the Tigers. He will not be coaching in whatever bowl game LSU is picked to compete in. Instead, he has vacation plans.
Orgeron announced in his press conference that he and his girlfriend are packing tonight and headed to the beach, specifically Destin, Florida.
“Whoever the new coach is, I wish him all the luck in the world,” Orgeron said. “I’ll always be an LSU fan.”
Orgeron finishes his time at LSU with 51-20 overall record and a national championship. But less than two years removed from the title, he is now gone and LSU is left to find its next head coach. In the past two seasons, Orgeron compiled an 11-11 overall record.
The upset win of the Aggies was the capper of Orgeron’s career in the Bayou. After getting the ball back from the Aggies with just under two minutes remaining in the game, quarterback Max Johnson led LSU down the field 85 yards on 9 plays. The drive was capped off by Johnson finding Jaray Jenkins in the end zone for the second time, on a pass delivered as the Aggies pass rush laid a big hit on the quarterback.

Ed Orgeron shares what he will remember most from time at LSU
During his weekly press conference earlier this week, Orgeron was asked what he would remember the most from his time leading the LSU program and what he’ll take away from it when his tenure officially comes to a close soon.
“You know, the day-to-day basis,” Orgeron said. “Excitement to come to work, seeing the players, going out and recruiting, coming down the Tiger Walk, the 2019 season, the getting the big recruit, going out there and competing with all of the players and coaches we’ve been through. It’s been phenomenal.”
After making that impactful statement about his time in Baton Rouge, Orgeron was then asked by another reporter if the good things that have happened with him as LSU’s head coach outweighed the bad.
“Oh yeah – no question,” Orgeron said. “I ain’t had a bad day yet. I’m not going to have a bad day. I think I’m going to make it.”
