Elite prospects continue to flock to Baton Rouge to get a look at LSU and interact with Brian Kelly, his staff and the slew of top-ranked players already committed to the Tigers.

This weekend, one of the biggest names on campus was Olney (Md.) Good Counsel four-star safety Faheem Delane. He posed alongside Kelly as he continues to consider the rising SEC program:

The Tigers made Delane’s top five schools at the end of 2023, alongside  AlabamaOhio StateTennessee and Virginia Tech. He took a game visit to The Boot back in October.

“They have the history as DBU with players like Jamal Adams and Tyrann Mathieu and the list goes on,” Delane said of LSU to On3. “That’s what sparked my interest in them, as well as coach (Brian) Kelly going there a few years back. He’s definitely trying to put the program back to where they’re winning national championships. I definitely see them as national contenders.”

LSU’s 2025 class — which is currently battling with Ohio State for the top spot in the On3 Industry Team Recruiting Rankings — features just one defensive back pledge in the form of in-state four-star corner Jaboree Antoine.

Delane is the No. 36 overall prospect and No. 3 safety in the 2025 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He’s also the top-ranked player in Maryland.

LSU Class Breakdown

Of LSU’s pledges, all 11 check in as blue-chip prospects in the On3 Industry Ranking. The class features three five-stars (QB Bryce Underwood, RB Harlem Berry, WR Dakorien Moore) and eight four-star prospects.

And according to the On300 rankings, four commitments — including newest pledge Tyler Miller, are the No. 1 prospects at their position nationally.

Seven of the 11 future Tigers hail from the state of Louisiana, a recruiting priority for head coach Brian Kelly since he took over. In 2024, LSU signed 13 of the state’s top 17 prospects, including nine of the top 10.

The Tigers currently have the most blue-chip commitments in the country and the second-highest number of total commits as well. Eight are projected to play on the offensive side of the ball at the next level, while cornerback Jaboree Antoine and linebackers Keylan Moses and Charles Ross represent the defense.
