KJ Williams, Adam Miller share feelings of snapping LSU's losing streak
Everyone involved with the LSU program knew this season was going to be tough. With the Will Wade era coming to a screeching halt and Matt McMahon taking over a tough situation, the Tigers were going to struggle. The fight has not stopped in Baton Rouge though and was rewarded with a win against Vanderbilt on Wednesday.
Getting the win at the Pete Maravich Assembly Center must have felt nice too. Especially two players who transferred into the program, KJ Williams and Adam Miller.
Both shared their feelings on what ending a 14-game losing streak meant to them, beginning with Williams. He talked about how LSU showed heart throughout the week preparing, something that could be difficult for a team on such a drought.
“Just us staying the course,” Williams said. “Of course, we went on that long losing streak and us coming out tonight — the energy and preparation it took for us these last two days — we took it to the heart. We came out with the mindset ‘no matter what, we’re going to get this win.’ Credit to my teammates, they were locked in today.”
Williams had one of the best games of his career, dropping 35 points. Only four of those came from the free throw line as well, having a great shooting day. The Murray State transfer made five of 10 threes made and shot 52% from the field. A night to remember.

Adam Miller credits LSU teammates, coaches for win
Miller shared similar sentiment to Williams, giving out a ton of credit. He spoke about how the ball has not bounced in favor of LSU once this season. And most teams could deflate in late February when dropping 14 in a row.
The Tigers were not one. Miller said he is proud of how both his teammates and coaches fought through the tough times.
“I think we just locked in,” Miller said. “It was a different type of energy in shootaround and practice this week. I’ll say this — my team, we don’t ever really lay down. We couldn’t get any lucky ones. I feel like this one, we grinded it out and we deserved to win this one.
“It’s hard when you can’t get those 50-50 games and certain situations don’t go your way. I just want to give kudos to my team, my coaches. It’s easy to lay down right now and we didn’t do that.”
