Five-Star Plus+ WR Dakorien Moore meets with LSU legend Ja'Marr Chase
The nation’s No. 1 wide receiver is back in Baton Rouge for an official visit, and he met with a legendary LSU wide receiver.
Duncanville (Texas) Five-Star Plus+ wide receiver Dakorien Moore, a onetime LSU commit, posted a photo with former Tigers wideout Ja’Marr Chase on Thursday.
Chase played a key role in LSU’s 2019 national championship run. He was the Fred Biletnikoff Award winner in 2019, a Unanimous All-American and accounted for 20 touchdowns and over 1,700 yards.
Moore is the nation’s No. 3 overall prospect, No.1 wide receiver and top recruit from Texas in the 2025 cycle according to the On3 Industry Ranking — a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

Steve Sarkisian addresses injury update on Texas star WR
He decommitted from LSU last month after having been pledged to the Tigers since August. Texas, Ohio State and Oregon have been solidly in the mix following his decommitment.
“I haven’t seen everything that I need to with LSU,” Moore told On3’s Steve Wiltfong late last month. “They were kind of behind in the beginning, even though I’ve been down there numerous times and stuff like that. All three of my other schools showed me a lot upfront, and I feel like LSU was behind so I need to see more from them. I’m taking this visit to see that.
“I need to see how they develop their players outside of just football, and obviously they have a great program — some of the greats have come from there. But I want to see something outside of that.”
Dakorien Moore Scouting Summary
On3’s Scouting and Rankings team writes this about Moore as a prospect:
“Skilled receiver with a well-rounded skill set who stars for one of the tip high school programs in the state of Texas. Measured at around 5-foot-10.5, 175 pounds prior to his junior season. Touts top speed on the track, running a wind-aided 10.63 mark in the 100 meters as a sophomore. Shows a refined and well-rounded skill set as a receiver both on Friday nights and in the camp setting. Has the long speed to separate deep and take the top off of defenses.
“Shifty after the catch and uses his field vision to find open space, sometimes cutting back across the field. Looks to have plus ball skills, with the ability to make acrobatic catches. Shows reliable, strong hands at the catch point in the camp setting. Turned in a good sophomore season for the Texas state champions, catching 44 passes for 767 yards and seven touchdowns.”
