Earlier this week, Flau’jae Johnson inked a landmark NIL deal with Unrivaled to receive equity in the 3-on-3 women’s basketball league. She’s now adding to her historic run in the space.

The LSU star debuted a player exclusive shoe through her NIL deal with Puma. Johnson unveiled her exclusive All-Pro NITRO PE on her Overtime podcast, Best of Both Worlds with Flau’jae, gifting a box to one of her biggest fans, Kambri.

“This, right here, this is something nobody has except for you and my family,” Johnson said. “I’m gonna sign a box for you and I’m gonna sign a shoe for you. This is my own Puma PE Flau’jae Edition, Camouflage.”

Johnson’s sneaker features her No. 4 in a camouflauge pattern, which is in honor of her late father, the rapper Camoflauge. It also features her “Big 4” celebration on the tongue and has two quotes from her mother – “Mama raised a beast” and “We worked on this.” There’s also a handwritten note on the inside of the shoe as a tribute to her brothers.

Johnson has a longstanding relationship with Puma, which dates back to 2023. She was also part of the brand’s global basketball campaign last year alongside big names such as Breanna Stewart, Scoot Henderson and LaMelo Ball.

Flau’jae Johnson continues to shine in NIL space

Debuting a PE shoe the latest notable NIL venture for Johnson, the star LSU junior who continues to blaze a trail in the space. She recently announced a deal with Unrivaled, the new 3-on-3 women’s basketball league, and will also receive an equity stake. That made her the second college athlete to receive equity in a professional sports league, along with UConn star Paige Bueckers.

Bueckers became the first college athlete to debut a player edition sneaker through her NIL deal with Nike earlier this week. Now, Johnson is in that conversation, as well, after unveiling her shoe.

Johnson is one of the most recognizable players in women’s basketball. As she goes through her junior season at LSU, she has an On3 NIL Valuation of $1.5 million, which ranks No. 1 in the college women’s basketball NIL rankings. The partnership with Unrivaled is the latest notable addition to her portfolio, which includes deals with JBL AudioApple Cash and Roc Nation.

A crucial part of LSU’s national championship run in 2023, Johnson was one of the subjects of the Amazon Prime documentary The Money Game alongside teammate Angel Reese, Tigers quarterback Jayden Daniels and gymnast Livvy Dunne. She also debuted her first EP in June – which included a collaboration with Lil Wayne – and performed one of her songs at the ESPYS.
