Former Arkansas starting corner announces transfer destination
The LSU Tigers are bringing another Louisiana native back home. Harvey, Louisiana, native Greg Brooks Jr. announced on Thursday that he’ll transfer to LSU from Arkansas. Brooks spent the last three seasons as the Razorbacks’ starting nickelback.
“Really from that bayou this that alligator walk!” Brooks tweeted with his commitment graphic. “I’m coming home!! #GeauxTigers”
In 2021, Brooks played in all 13 games for the Razorbacks. He totaled 48 tackles, including 23 solo, 2.5 tackles for loss, one interception, four pass breakups, two quarterback hurries and a pair of recovered fumbles.
Heading into the 2021 season, Brooks played in 21 games, including 20 starts. Brooks notched 64 tackles, 35 solo, three tackles for loss, three interceptions, three quarterback hurries and seven pass breakups.
Coming out of high school in 2019, Brooks was a four-star prospect on the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He ranked as the No. 332 overall prospect in the country, No. 30 overall cornerback in the nation and No. 16 prospect in Louisiana.
He has two years of eligibility remaining and is immediately eligible to play for the Tigers as this is his first transfer.

The former West Jefferson standout entered the NCAA Transfer Portal this month. Brooks joins fellow Razorback DB Joe Foucha in making the move from Fayetteville to Baton Rouge for next season.
Brooks joins Foucha at LSU
Joe Foucha played in 11 games for the Razorbacks this season, not appearing against Texas or in the bowl game against Penn State. He recorded 73 tackles and 7.5 tackles for a loss while two interceptions and seven passes defended.
Coming out of high school, Foucha was a three-star prospect according to the On3 Consensus. LSU did offer the defensive back and was alongside the likes of Alabama, Auburn, and Oklahoma going after his commitment. Foucha was originally a member of the 2018 class.
Foucha will now be looking to bring the Golden Boot back to Baton Rouge after Arkansas was able to get a win in the rivalry for the first time since 2015. He will have a reunion with his old program on Nov. 12.
