Former Florida CB Ja'Keem Jackson signs with LSU out of transfer portal
Former Florida cornerback Ja’Keem Jackson has signed with LSU out of the NCAA transfer portal and will play for the Tigers in 2025, according to On3’s Pete Nakos.
Jackson played just two games this past season after playing 11 as a true freshman. Overall, he has 11 total tackles and four pass deflections.
As a member of the Class of 2023, Jackson was a four-star recruit out of Kissimmee (Fla.) Osceola, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He was the No. 13 overall prospect in the state, the No. 6 cornerback in the class and the No. 55 overall prospect in the class.
Due to a soft tissue injury in the lower body, Jackson was limited to just the first two games this fall.

Ja’Keem Jackson commits to LSU
With Jackson off to LSU, it’s a big addition for Brian Kelly and the Tigers. Kelly knows the standard of LSU has to be higher than what he’s brought in three years.

While there’s been success, there hasn’t been playoff or national championship success. Perhaps Jackson could be an additional cog to improvements next season.
“The standard is the standard here, right,” Kelly said. “I didn’t come down here to go 8-4. I’m not happy about 8-4. Nobody in that room is happy about being 8-4. What they’re happy about is they’ve played well after a three game losing streak, and they bounced back. And this game teaches you lessons about grit and toughness and perseverance and not not giving up and letting go of the rope, right?
“They easily could have fractured, right? Instead, they stuck together, and they stayed committed, and they beat two teams that were really good football teams in this league, and have pelts to show that they are good teams, right? So at the end of the day, we want to win every game we play.”
