Former Florida EDGE Jack Pyburn commits to LSU out of transfer portal
Former Florida EDGE Jack Pyburn committed to LSU out of the NCAA transfer portal, according to On3’s Hayes Fawcett.
This season, Pyburn logged 60 tackles, one sack, one forced fumble and one interception for the Gators. It was a career year for the Florida pass rusher after logging just 20 tackles in his first two seasons.
As a member of the Class of 2022, Pyburn was a three-star recruit out of Jacksonville (Fla.) The Bolles School, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He was the No. 80 overall prospect in the state, the No. 50 EDGE in the class and the No. 593 overall prospect in the class.

Pyburn is more than a year removed from suffering a season-ending ACL injury late in 2023 that forced him to miss the final three games of that season.

Pyburn played a big role in what was his final game with the Gators, recording a strip sack of FSU freshman quarterback Luke Kromenhoek that Florida teammate D’antre Robinson recovered to set up a one-yard touchdown by running back Ja’Kobi Jackson for a 7-0 lead with 2:28 left in the first quarter of the 31-11 win in Tallahassee.
Pyburn was the 10th Florida player at the time to enter the transfer portal since the end of the regular season, following fellow EDGE rushers Justus Boone and Quincy Ivory, linebacker Deuce Spurlock and cornerback Ja’Keem Jackson on defense, as well as tight end Arlis Boardingham, receiver Andy Jean, and offensive linemen Christian Williams and Mike Williams.
