LSU’s offensive line just got a major upgrade. The Tigers landed one of the best offensive linemen in the transfer portal on Thursday.

Miles Frazier, a transfer from Florida International, took to Instagram to announce his commitment to Brian Kelly’s squad. It’s a big victory for Kelly, who’s trying to rebuild the LSU offensive line as he takes the reins in Baton Rouge.

Frazier entered the transfer portal on Nov. 29 and recently narrowed his list to three schools: LSU, Ohio State and Florida State. He started all 13 games last year and was voted as a first team All-American by The Athletic. According to Pro Football Focus, he had a solid 76.3 overall grade.

It’s another victory for Kelly on the transfer front Thursday. LSU quarterback Myles Brennan announced he was staying with the Tigers, keeping stability in the quarterback room. Now, he’s getting some protection on the offensive line, as well, with Frazier coming in.

Before Kelly takes over on the sidelines, Brad Davis will lead the Tigers in their upcoming bowl game. LSU takes on Kansas State in the Texas Bowl on Jan. 4.

Myles Brennan announces return with powerful message to LSU

LSU Tigers quarterback Myles Brennan did not play this season after suffering a compound fracture in his non-throwing arm just before the season. He did not return to the field this season, and entered the NCAA Transfer Portal on Nov. 3.

But after exploring his options, Brennan has decided to remove his name from the portal and will instead return to LSU for another season.

“There’s no place like home,” Brennan tweeted. “Let’s ride tiger nation!”

Before his injury, Brennan was engaged in a battle with Max Johnson for the starting quarterback job at LSU. Brennan also missed the majority of the 2020 season with a torn abdomen. Prior to his injury in 2020, Brennan was 79-of-131 for 11 touchdowns and three interceptions. He has thrown for 1,712 yards in his LSU career, which began in 2017.

Johnson also recently entered the transfer portal, leaving Garrett Nussmeier as the only scholarship on LSU’s roster for the upcoming bowl game. Playing Nussmeier would likely burn his redshirt, which has been an ongoing conversation at LSU for a lot of the later portion of the season.

Next season, Nussmeier and Brennan will be joined by On3 Consensus four-star quarterback Walker Howard at LSU. Howard officially signed with the Tigers on National Signing Day on Wednesday. The On3 Consensus rankings list Howard as the fifth best quarterback and 40th overall recruit in the 2022 class.
