Former LSU gymnastics coach D-D Breaux reports championship rings stolen
Former LSU gymnastics coach D-D Breaux reported that approximately 40 championship rings were stolen from her office, according to local news station WBRZ.
LSU police are investigating the matter. Breaux reported on Nov. 14 that a display case containing the rings was missing and that she had last seen it on Nov. 7. Each individual ring is estimated to be worth around $3,000.
“They could not have taken anything from that office that had more deep meaning than my ring box,” Breaux said. “It was all of the rings from SEC and NCAA individual champions. A career of championship memories.”
The rings that were stolen date back as far as the 1980s as Breaux began her career at LSU in 1978. Although the individual championship rings were taken, she said that she still has the team championship rings.
Breaux also told officers that the rings were the only things taken from the office despite the fact that she had coins on her desk as well.
LSU police do not have any suspects at the moment.
