Former LSU star Kevin Faulk elected to College Football Hall of Fame
Former LSU Tigers star Kevin Faulk has been elected to the College Football Hall of Fame as part of the 2022 class. Faulk is the SEC’s all-time leader in career all-purpose yards (6,833), and is also LSU’s all-time leading rusher.
In his four-year career at LSU, Faulk rushed 856 times for 4,557 yards and 46 touchdowns. He had at least 1,100 rushing yards and 12 touchdowns in each of his final three seasons in Baton Rouge. He also added 53 career receptions for 600 yards and four touchdowns. As a whole, Faulk left LSU with 909 career touches for 5,157 yards and 50 touchdowns from scrimmage.
Faulk was named a first team All-American in 1996. He also served on LSU’s coaching staff from 2018-2021.
In being inducted to the College Football Hall of Fame, Faulk becomes the 11th LSU player to earn those honors. The last Tiger to be inducted was defensive tackle Glenn Dorsey, who was inducted in 2020.
In a release by the university, Faulk was very appreciative for the opportunity to be honored in such a big way.

“All praise goes to my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ,” Faulk said. “This is an honor that wouldn’t be possible without my great teammates, coaches and everyone who helped me along the way. It’s a tremendous honor but for me, but it was a team effort. I’m so humbled and honored to be included among the great list of players and coaches in the Hall of Fame Class for 2022.”
Faulk had a long NFL career after leaving LSU
Following his four years with the Tigers, Faulk was selected with the 46th overall pick in the second round of the 1999 NFL Draft by the New England Patriots. There, Faulk played from 1999-2011, rushing for 3,607 career yards and 16 touchdowns on 864 attempts. He also added 431 receptions for 3,701 yards and 15 touchdowns.
Faulk also played a big role with the Patriots as a returner, as he returned 101 punts and 181 kicks in his NFL career. He returned those 101 punts for a total of 943 yards, and his 181 kick returns were good for 4,098 yards and two touchdowns.
