Four-Star IOL DJ Chester commits to LSU
Four-star interior offensive lineman DJ Chester of Atlanta (GA) Eagle’s Landing Christian announced his commitment to LSU Thursday morning.
The 6-foot-5, 305 pounder chose the Tigers over Michigan, Florida State, Auburn, Ole Miss, and FAMU.
Chester on why he chose LSU
““LSU was one of the first places that actually felt like home,” Chester said. “The first time I went, I told my parents ‘yeah I kinda wanna go here.’ Then I just kept going back. Coach Davis is a great coach, I love him, and he treats me like a son already. Also BK (Brian Kelly), me and him talk every week. I had to build a great relationship with them or I wouldn’t be going. At LSU they are allowing me to do track as well, and that’s something I want to do because I’m pretty good at it.”

DJ Chester Scouting Summary
“Big-bodied mauler who makes his presence known in the run game by blowing defenders off the ball and finishing them with tenacity,” On3’s Director of Scouting Charles Power wrote. “Raw power through his hips and plays with tremendous leverage. Threw an impressive 52-foot-9 in the shot put and 163-foot-3 in the discus during his junior track and field season. Does not possess ideal arm length in order to thrive at tackle in the NFL. Could be a swing tackle in college, but ideal fit is along the interior. One of the youngest offensive linemen in the 2023 recruiting cycle.”
Chester ranks as the No. 145 player in the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that accounts all four major recruiting services. He also tabs in as the No. 11 interior offensive lineman and the No. 11 player in the state of Georgia.
