Four-star linebacker Kolaj Cobbins of Destrehan (LA) High announced his commitment to LSU Friday night.
The 6-foot-4, 210 pounder chose the Tigers over Texas, Colorado, Michigan, Ole Miss, and Oregon.
Cobbins on why he chose LSU
“I chose LSU because when they offered me their offer stood out the most to me than any other offer I got,” Cobbins said. “Also they have everything I’m looking for, great education, great coaches, great environment, NIL, and lastly it’s my home state. I feel safe in Louisiana if things go wrong.”
Relationship with coaching staff stood out + how they plan on using him
“I’m really close with all of the coaches,” Cobbins said. “We all built a bond since the first day I visited LSU. I’m really close with coach Kelly, coach Matt House (the defensive coordinator), and coach Cain (my position coach). The way they will use me in their defense is the jack position. They will move me all over just like they do with Harold Perkins, because I’m so versatile. I can do everything on the field… pass rush, pass drop, read, cover WRs.”
