Four-star LSU commit Davhon Keys captures Defensive MVP honors, talks Tigers
ARLINGTON, Texas — Davhon Keys capped his time at Aledo (Texas) High School hoisting a second consecutive state championship trophy.
This time, Keys had additional hardware to lug back home.
Keys, a four-star LSU-committed linebacker, earned MVP honors after leading his defense with 12 tackles, including 6 solo stops and 2 more TFL. Keys also had a timely sack on third down and saw action on the offensive side of the ball en route to another title game triumph.
“The defense really stepped up under pressure,” said Keys, the On3 Industry Ranking’s No. 33-ranked LB in the country. “We all came together to work hard and did our responsibility to help the offense. We gave them good field position and they capitalized, and took it from there.”
“Physicality, determination, and quickness … even our 285-pound defensive linemen hustle to the ball and get to the ball fast and hit you when they get there,” he continued. “Honestly, we scored our first touchdown of offense, I could sense that we were picking up momentum. I had complete faith our offense could take the game and run with it, and they did.”
