Four-star LSU RB commit Caden Duram captures MVP honors, ready to suit up in Baton Rouge
ARLINGTON, Texas — Four-star RB Caden Durham was terrific in Duncanville (Texas) High School’s repeat as Class 6A Division I state champions.
The On300 back from the Dallas Metroplex pieced together a dominant first half — totaling more than 200 yards and averaging better than 21 yards per carry.
Durham, an LSU commitment and the No. 8-ranked back in the country, was named the Offensive MVP. He racked up 243 yards on 22 carries and found the end zone thrice in the Panthers’ 49-33 victory. The teary-eyed workhorse finished in the same position as he did this time last December in his final game for Duncanville High.
“I told them we were gonna do it again and we did it,” Durham said post-game. “Here we are.”
Durham piled up more than 200 yards in the first half of action, including all three of his scores.
The speedy running back did so with LSU associate head coach and running backs coach Frank Wilson, his lead recruiter, on the sidelines.
“That’s handling business. That’s all it was — handling business,” said Durham, the No. 111 overall player in the nation, said.

“It’s all happiness,” the four-star back continued. “That’s what it is. Me and my family, everyone is happy.”
The 5-foot-10, 200-pounder claimed his second championship at the Texas 6A level. Next up is Baton Rouge — with the same mentality.
“It’s the same old, same old,” he said. “Let’s go get a ring and bring it home.”
Caden Durham was a top performer at 2023 Texas state championships
On3 was live on hand at AT&T Stadium for the week. Durham was one of the several notable names to crack the On3 top performers.
Here’s more on Durham from the state championship games:
“Four-star RB Caden Durham pieced together a scorching first half in which he netted more than 200 yards and averaged north of 21 yards per carry. The speedy LSU-committed back with blazing 10.2 speed broke off several long runs to the perimeter. Durham, a one-cut-and-go sort of runner, came downhill in several long bursts in the first half and also made several plays out of the backfield, breaking tackles in space and also consistently pushing the pile forward.
After several live evaluations of Durham the past two seasons, he is a force running through contact and provides big splash runs as well as critical carries between the tackles, too. In his final game at Duncanville, Durham totaled 243 yards and 3 TD with an impressive 10.5 YPC average.” — On3 National Recruiting Analyst Sam Spiegelman
