Four-Star Safety Dashawn McBryde commits to LSU

Four-star safety Dashawn McBryde of Denham Springs (LA) High announced his commitment to LSU Saturday afternoon.

“LSU just really felt like a family from the start, you know,” McBryde said. “All the staff gets excited when they see me and it’s just a nice feeling to have.”

“The coaching staff is really amazing. The relationship with them feels like I’ve known them for a lifetime. But the main people I talk to are coach Cooks, Sloan, and Jordan Arsement. They are all really good people. LSU sees me as a safety that’s very versatile.”

The Louisiana defensive back joins coach Kelly and the Tigers’ top 12 class in the 2024 team rankings. He is accompanied by Maurice Williams, Kolaj Cobbins, and others.

McBryde ranks as the No. 209 player in the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He also tabs in as the No. 18 safety and the No. 5 player in the state of Louisiana.

He currently has an On3 NIL Valuation of $68K. The On3 NIL Valuation is the industry’s leading index that sets high school and college athletes’ projected annual value (PAV). The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.
