Four-Star Safety Michael Daugherty commits to LSU
Four-star safety Michael Daugherty of Loganville (Ga.) Grayson High has announced his commitment to LSU on Wednesday night.
The 6-foot-1, 175 pounder chose the Tigers over Auburn, Louisville, and North Carolina.
Daugherty quickly discussed his decision to ultimately choose LSU.
Since visiting prior to the new staff being brought in at LSU, the Georgia safety noticed a complete difference in culture, which ultimately led to him deciding to commit.
“The renewed atmosphere at LSU stood out to me,” Daugherty said. “The way things felt and the energy on the upside since the last time I was there was great.”

Daugherty has strong relationship with coaching staff
“I have a great relationship with coach Cooks and coach House,” Daugherty said. “They have been real with me and personal about it all.”
He ranks as the No. 255 player in the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally-weighted industry generated average that accounts for all four major recruiting services. Daughtery also tabs in at the No. 22 safety and the No. 25 player in the state of Georgia.
Daugherty joins LSU’s Top 8 Class in the SEC, alongside WR Omarion Miller and TE Mac Markway.
Michael Daugherty Scouting Summary
Michael Daugherty is a versatile defender who has starred for one of the more talented programs in Georgia. He plays as a hybrid box safety/linebacker type at Grayson and has the ability to both cover and roll down into the box and defend the run. Daugherty is active and battle-tested against top competition. He’s advanced as a tackler relative to some other safeties. He’ll need to keep getting stronger and adding mass at the next level. I also could see him helping out on special teams at LSU early on in his career.
