LSU Tigers head coach Brian Kelly took his turn for answering questions during the 2022 SEC Media Days. Towards the end of his appearance, Kelly spoke about integrating himself into life in the state of Louisiana and revealed his desire to make LSU his last stop.

“Be part of the community. I’ve embraced that,” said Kelly. “I bought a home less than a mile from campus. I think that anytime I’ve moved into a particular community, it’s embracing the community and culture. And I think that’s the way you have to settle into any college university setting, be part of the community and embrace it accordingly, and I think that’s what I’ve done.”

Kelly has definitely embraced his new culture in the state of Louisiana and has engaged in numerous amount of activities that it has to offer. Not only that, but when it comes to his coaching demeanor, he appears to be more relaxed. And that was on full display during his recruiting process when Kelly would take part in videos with recruits dancing to ‘Callin Baton Rouge.’ But as Kelly continued, he revealed that his affinity for the state and school runs deep and plans for LSU to be the final stop of his coaching tour.

“This isn’t a pit stop for me; this is my last stop,” said Kelly. “So I think just for me, more than anything else, opened my eyes to so many different things that I have never done before. Backwater fishing down in Port Fushan was awesome; never done that before. I actually caught some fish for the first time in a long time. I don’t think I ever could catch a fish, but come to Louisiana, and they jump in your boat; I mean, it’s beautiful. So just embracing the culture and being part of the state of Louisiana.”

No one knows for certain what the future holds, but if Kelly could have his way, he would like to retire from his position at LSU. But before we get to his swan song, the new Tigers headman must check a few other quests off his list. The most important of which is bringing the national championship trophy back to LSU.
