LSU wide receiver Jalen Brown intends to enter NCAA transfer portal
LSU wide receiver Jalen Brown intends on entering the NCAA transfer portal, he told On3’s Hayes Fawcett. Brown spent one season in Baton Rouge but will look to continue his college career elsewhere moving forward.
Brown just wrapped up his true freshman season under head coach Brian Kelly, appearing in just three games. The wide receiver was able to preserve a year of eligibility, taking a redshirt. Whichever school winds up landing Brown will be adding a talented but inexperienced product to its roster.
Quite a few big-time schools were in on Brown during his commitment before LSU wound up winning out. The hometown Miami Hurricanes were certainly one of them, while Florida State, Michigan, and Texas were involved as well.
Just over a year later, those head coaches will have another chance at recruiting the speedy wide receiver.
Brown played high school football at Miami (FL) Gulliver Prep, where he was a four-star prospect. He was the No. 79 overall recruit in the 2023 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Rankings, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.
