Jaray Jenkins reveals message to Jack Bech prior to breakout performance
Veteran and standout wide receiver Jaray Jenkins is a key piece of the LSU offense. He’s starting to receive help from Jack Bech, a sophomore wide receiver on the team who had a breakout game against New Mexico.
While speaking to the media, Jaray Jenkins revealed the message that he gave to Jack Bech ahead of his breakout game.
“Yeah, I knew it was coming,” Jaray Jenkins said. “Jack is a hard worker. He comes in every week, every day, you know, with the right attitude, ready to work and ready to get better. So, like, I knew that he was gonna come like this. He knew it was. So, it was just a matter of the fact of when he was going to really do what he had to do.”

“He was on punt return, like I watched him all week at practice, and I told him like, ‘You’re gonna get you in that game if you do what you got to do.’ And he did, and y’all seen.”
Jack Bech had a team-high six catches for LSU against New Mexico. He also fielded two of the four punts the New Mexico kicked during the game.

Brian Kelly used one word to describe Jack Bech
LSU coach Brian Kelly is excited about what Jack Bech is going to be able to do in the future. Kelly used one word to describe Bech as a punt returner, “Fearless.”
“We’ll work on a couple things where ‘fearless’ shouldn’t be always the number one criteria for returning punts. We want some decision-making in that as well,” Brian Kelly said.
“But that’s how Jack plays, right? I mean, he’s at his best when he’s not worried about any factors other than competing and getting the ball in his hands and it’s fun to watch. I mean, that’s just the kind of player he is. But, you can see what kind of impact he can have in our punt return game.”
