Jared Jones grand slam, Hayden Travinski solo shot put LSU up 7-0 vs. No. 3 seed Kentucky
There were fireworks early in the day in Hoover, Alabama for the SEC Baseball Tournament when the LSU Tigers went back-to-back in the seventh inning to blow their game against the No. 3 seed Kentucky Wildcats wide open.
First, Jared Jones came to the plate with the bases loaded, and he cleared them with a grand slam. The only question was whether the ball would be fair or foul. The next man up was Hayden Travinski, who added on a solo shot of his own. All of a sudden the game was 7-0 and LSU was in control.

You can watch Jared Jones go deep with his grand slam, here:
The Wildcats actually intentionally walked Tommy White to get to Jared Jones. That was a mistake that ended up costing Kentucky.
Jared Jones worked a 2-0 count against Kentucky pitcher Cameron O’Brien, who then came back with a slider that got Jones to swing and miss. That’s when he made a major mistake pitch, hanging a curveball that Jones was able to hit into orbit. That blew the game open 6-0.
Next up for LSU was Hayden Travinski. Not wanting to miss out on the action, he hit a home run of his own. Again, he got all of it off a breaking pitch from O’Brien.

This game comes after LSU won its first game of the SEC Tournament on Tuesday, taking down Georgia in a game that got plenty of people’s attention. Meanwhile, Kentucky was off on Tuesday, enjoying a day off in Hoover after an excellent regular season.
In the end, LSU went on to win the game by a score of 11-0 in just eight innings. With that, the good times are gonna keep on rolling for the Tigers. They advance to take on the winner of the Arkansas–South Carolina SEC Tournament game. Meanwhile, Kentucky is going to take on the loser from that game as it looks to rebound from a tough day at the ballpark.
