JD PicKell: Predicting every game on LSU's 2022 schedule
On3’s JD PicKell has predicted every game’s outcome for the LSU Tigers‘ inaugural season under head coach Brian Kelly – and has decided that, based on their strength of schedule, will finish with a 7-5 record in 2022.
While that is certainly far from the standard expected at LSU, it’s a start. Following the complete meltdown in the two seasons since claiming its first College Football Playoff National Playoff during the undefeated 2019 regime, Kelly’s track record leads us to believe that he has the ability to turn around the fortunes of this program swiftly in the coming years.

After two consecutive 8-5 seasons to begin his Notre Dame tenure, Kelly led the Fighting Irish to a 12-1 record in 2012 along with a trip to the BCS National Championship game. Other than a 4-8 blip in the road in 2016, Kelly has managed to secure 10-win seasons in South Bend every season since 2015 – and who’s to say Kelly can’t do that at a program like LSU?
If PicKell is to be believed, Kelly’s tenure will start off on a hot streak, winning the first five games of his tenure over storied programs such as Florida State and Auburn. While that should be an exciting notion for Tigers fans, the voice of On3 doesn’t think the back-end of the season will treat Kelly and LSU too kindly, finishing the season dropping five of their last seven regular season games.
