Duncanville (Texas) four-star safety Ka’Davion Dotson-Walker has established himself as one of the most coveted players from the state in the 2024 cycle.

Oregon, Texas, SMU, TCU, LSU and more are among his top schools right now, but one team is trending heavily in the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine (RPM). After an expert pick in favor of LSU from national recruiting analyst Sam Spiegelman, the Tigers hold a 93.2 percent chance of landing Dotson-Walker, per the RPM.

He told Spiegelman earlier this week that LSU is the No. 1 school in his recruitment right now.

“They’re at the top of my list,” Dotson-Walker said of the Tigers. “Why not LSU? DBU? NFLSU? That’s how I feel about them.”

The 6-foot, 185-pounder is the No. 230 overall prospect in the 2024 class, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He ranks as the nation’s No. 21 safety and No. 41 recruit in the Lone Star State.

Spring visit launched LSU into the lead

Dotson-Walker was back in Baton Rouge on earlier this month , where he spent significant time with defensive coordinator Matt House and safeties coach Kerry Cooks, who is one of the top recruiters of north Texas in the country.

The visit was key in moving LSU up to the top of Dotson-Walker’s list.

“It went great as always,” he told Spiegelman. “I really got to spend more time with the coaches, especially Coach Cooks and Coach House. Coach House had a whole video of what I needed to do and what I needed to get better at, and that shows me how he wants me there. … Coach Cooks showed me a lot about how he coaches with so much detail.”

Dotson-Walker also likes the makeup of LSU’s roster and feels it gives him a strong chance to be successful.

“The depth in the DB room, that’s definitely playing a big role.”
