Kyren Lacy is expected to have a big season in 2023, and he’s starting with LSU’s Spring Game.

The talented Tigers pass catcher made a fantastic play on the first play of the showdown on Saturday, reeling in a one-handed catch and evading a defender to go all the way for a touchdown. Check it out below, although you may need to watch it two or three times to simply believe what your eyes are seeing.

If that’s what Lacy and LSU have for the first play of the Spring Game, who knows what else is in store. It could be the first of many highlights from Tigers play-makers on the day.

Kyren Lacy put everyone on notice, and he’ll be looking to do it time and time again throughout the 2023 season.

Continuing, Brian Kelly took some time to speak with the SEC Network crew before LSU’s Spring Game on Saturday.

Among many things, one of the hot topics was quarterback Jayden Daniels. After a successful first season in Baton Rouge, Kelly explained what his signal caller has improved upon this spring.

“Well I think technically, pushing the ball down the field, being more aggressive with the football,” explained Kelly. “I thought at times last year, he kind of didn’t look to be more aggressive with some things. He didn’t want to make mistakes. I think he’s at that point now where he sees things a lot clearer, and he’s being more aggressive.

“He’s put on some weight. You can see already in his arms. His body is a bit different. That’s just maturity.”

As for the Tigers playmakers, Kelly has been pleased with a bevy of them, naming some of his wide receivers, running backs and tight ends by name ahead of Saturday’s activities.

[Mason] Taylor[Malik] Nabers[Brian] Thomas has had a really good spring. Kyren Lacy,” stated Kelly. “I think that there’s plenty of guys there that are going to be able to surround him and make him make plays. At the running back position, Noah Cain has been really good.

“So I think there’s plenty of obviously play-makers in this league, and you’re going to need them in this league, that’s for sure.”
