Livvy Dunne injury update: LSU star shares unfortunate news ahead of senior night

Just two regular season meets remain for LSU gymnastics and Friday night was setting up to be a special one. Senior night was set to take place at the PMAC, with as many as 10 girls set to be honored. One of them is Livvy Dunne but unfortunately, she will not be competing.
Dunne announced an injury will keep her out of the meet against Georgia. Dealing with an avulsion practice of her patella, her time being out there in front of the Baton Rouge crowd is over. No timeline for a return was provided for Dunne but she did send a message out to announce the news.
“Hi friends! Unfortunately I’ve been dealing with an avulsion fracture of my patella and will not be able to compete on senior night,” Dunne said via her Instagram story. “It absolutely breaks my heart to not get the opportunity to compete in the PMAC one last time. Tiger fans, you’ve been so good to me! Thank you for the endless support and as always Geaux Tigers!”
The goal for LSU remains to same — winning another national championship. Dunne came back to school for another season in order to do so. Thus far, LSU has a 9-2 record with meets against Georgia and Auburn remaining.
Beating Georgia would be a sixth consecutive win for the Tigers, dating back to Jan. 31 against Missouri. Not many teams in college gymnastics as are hot as LSU, currently being ranked No. 2 in the country per the College Gymnastics Association.

Dunne will sadly have to support her teammates this weekend instead of being out there with them. Hopefully, she get back to full health in time for the postseason.
