LSU defensive back Sage Ryan is sticking it out with the Tigers at least for another year. After it was reported on Tuesday that Ryan would not enter the transfer portal after previously announcing he intended to do so, he confirmed that decision on Twitter.

The soon-to-be junior posted a clip from the movie The Wolf of Wallstreet featuring the main character Jordan Belfort, portrayed by Leonardo DiCaprio. In the clip, Belfort’s character emphatically belt’s out, “I’m not f***ing leaving. He also added two laughing emojis, indicating that Ryan intends to stay at LSU for a fourth season. You can view the tweet below.

Ryan made nearly 30 appearances with the Tigers over his three campaigns with the program. In that time, he finished with 64 tackles, six pass deflections, and a forced fumble. 2023 was his best season yet as he posted career-highs of 35 tackles and three deflections.

Sage Ryan’s decision to stay at LSU comes a mere four days after he originally announced that he would transfer from the Tigers. However, it appears the Louisiana native simply couldn’t see himself playing elsewhere and is ready to run it back with his teammates.

Ryan was the No. 38 overall recruit in the 2021 cycle according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies
