Less than 48 hours after backing off his longtime commitment to Florida, Buford (Ga.) High four-star athlete Isaiah Bond has become one of the most wanted targets in the Southeast.

Bond’s decommitment came after an unofficial visit to Alabama this past weekend. The Crimson Tide were in Bond’s top two when he committed to Florida in the spring. Now another school has thrown its hat in the ring in an attempt to land the 5-foot-10, 170-pounder.

Bond shared the news on social media Tuesday afternoon that LSU and Auburn had officially extended him a scholarship offer.

The Tigers join the pursuit, along with Alabama, Georgia and Texas, who have also stepped up their efforts to land Bond since his decommitment.

“I am going to sit back and evaluate my options again,” Bond told On3’s Chad Simmons on Monday. “Georgia is a school I could visit because it is so close, and I have looked into taking a visit to Texas, but nothing is set. My decommitting could open things up with new schools, so I just want to take some time to see.”

It’ll be interesting to see if the Tigers’ offer moves the needle with Isaiah Bond, especially since LSU is still searching for its next head coach. On Tuesday, Simmons logged a 60% prediction that Bond was going to end up at Alabama.

“I know Alabama, Georgia, and Texas are schools I am looking at,” said Bond, who is not sure if he will sign in December or February. “I will see what else happens.”

Isaiah Bond ranks as the No. 113 player in the country, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. The On3 Consensus also ranks Bond as the No. 4 athlete and the 11th-best player in Georgia. On3 ranks Bond as the No. 208 player overall and the sixth-best safety.
