LSU extends lead over Oregon State with back-to-back home runs
Hayden Travinski and Cade Beloso are back at it again. With LSU ahead 4-2 entering the fifth inning, the Tigers drilled back-to-back home runs to give LSU a comfortable 6-2 lead. This is the second time in two days that the pair has hit back-to-back homers.
Travinski is having an excellent year at the plate. The veteran catcher is batting a career-high .421 while blasting 10 home runs this season. Additionally, Travinski boasts a ridiculous .842 slugging percentage, ranking top five in the nation.
Beloso doesn’t trail far behind. The fifth-year graduate student is batting a career-high .329 this season with 12 home runs. Additionally, the 6-foot first baseman has recorded 37 RBIs this season. The duo’s special connection doesn’t escape their appreciation.

After Beloso hit LSU’s second-straight homer, Travinski appropriately celebrated the play with a dance in the dugout. Despite having top MLB prospects Dylan Crews and Paul Skenes on the team, Travinski and Beloso are stealing the show.
The pair has been pivotal in LSU’s NCAA Tournament run. The Tigers began their tourney dance with a comfortable 7-2 win over Tulane on Friday and a 6-5 triumph against Oregon State on Sunday. If LSU can capitalize on its two-headed monster’s momentum to defeat the Beavers, they will cruise to the Super Regional later this week.
