LSU head coach Brian Kelly let SEC Network’s Cole Cubelic know about a few changes along the Tigers’ offensive line at the beginning of Saturday night’s matchup between Southern and LSU. LSU is moving Charles Turner into the starting five on the offensive line and will play the center position. Garrett Dellinger has been moved to left guard for the Tigers. That will shift Miles Frazier to right tackle for LSU. Cam Wire is out of the starting lineup on Saturday night.

Those aren’t the only personnel changes the Tigers made. Edge rusher BJ Ojulari was out of tonight’s game after suffering an injury against Florida State, so freshman star linebacker Harold Perkins has gotten some early action in Saturday night’s matchup. According to the On3 Consensus Rankings for the 2022 cycle, Perkins was rated as the No. 1 linebacker in America.

Ojulari was seen in sweats ahead of the Tigers’ Week 2 matchup against Southernaccording to The Athletic’s Brody Miller. He totaled six tackles in last week’s game against Florida State before suffering an injury. The Bengal Tiger’s Billy Embody first reported Ojulari would miss the game.

Ojulari is also one of the leaders for LSU this year and was chosen to wear the No. 18 jersey, which is given to players who best exemplify Tigers football. That’s another reason why his loss is big for Kelly’s group Saturday night.

The Tigers also lost star defensive tackle Maason Smith to a torn ACL that he suffered while celebrating against the Florida State Seminoles on Sunday night.

The Tigers were firmly in control of Saturday night’s game, leading 44-0 with over two minutes remaining in the second quarter.

LSU was also without defensive lineman Ali Gaye in the first half of Saturday night’s game against Southern. He was ejected in the second half of the Florida State-LSU game on Sunday night due to targeting on ‘Noles quarterback Jordan Travis on a play.

The Tigers defeated Southern, 65-17. The game was never remotely close from the beginning. LSU scored 37 points in the first quarter, a program record for the most points scored in a single quarter.
