2026 4-star DL Richard Anderson commits to LSU
New Orleans Edna Karr four-star defensive lineman Richard Anderson has committed to LSU, he announced on Friday evening.
He chose the in-state Tigers over the likes of Ole Miss, Florida, Florida State and USC.
Anderson is the No. 131 overall prospect and No. 13 DL in the 2026 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He’s also the No. 7 player in Louisiana.

One of the many talented juniors out of The Boot, Anderson becomes commitment No. 1 for Brian Kelly and Co. in the 2026 cycle. The Tigers currently hold the No. 2 class in the 2025 cycle, per the On3 Industry Team Recruiting Rankings.
Tigers trending for big in-state haul in 2026
In the 2025 cycle, LSU already owns commitments from seven of the top eight in-state prospects. Anderson now kicks off what could be another hefty in-state haul down the road for the Tigers staff.

A pair of junior five-stars are already trending to LSU, according to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine (RPM). Reserve St. Augustine five-star defensive lineman Jahkeem Stewart and Erwinville (La.) University Lab five-star interior offensive lineman Lamar Brown are the No. 3 and 5 overall prospects in the 2026 class, per the On3 Industry Ranking.
Baton Rouge Catholic four-star safety Blaine Bradford is a top-15 recruit and is another top target for the Tigers. All three prospects are ranked No. 1 at their respective positions.
Three other top-100 recruits call Louisiana home in 2026: Gonzales East Ascension four-star offensive tackle Brysten Martinez, New Orleans Edna Karr four-star safety Aiden Hall and New Orleans Destrehan four-star wide receiver Jabari Mack.
