There’s a long way to go until the December Early Signing Period in 2024, but Brian Kelly and LSU are already on the cusp of an all-time recruiting class in Baton Rouge.

On Saturday, the Tigers landed a commitment from Belleville (Mich.) Five-Star Plus+ quarterback Bryce Underwood, the No. 1 overall prospect in the 2025 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking. The touted gunslinger pledged to LSU over the likes of Michigan, Alabama and Colorado.

“LSU felt like home,” Underwood told On3 upon his commitment. “The relationship I built with the coaching staff is unbreakable. I’ve never felt an atmosphere better than LSU’s. It’s unreal.”

With the addition of Underwood, LSU’s 2025 recruiting class now sits atop the On3 Industry Team Recruiting Rankings. The Tigers vaulted Georgia and Ohio State for the top spot.

Three five-stars now headline LSU’s 2025 class — all of whom are the top-ranked player at their respective position in the On3 Industry Ranking.

Back in August, Duncanville (Texas) Five-Star Plus+ wide receiver Dakorien Moore committed to the Tigers over Oregon and the in-state Texas Longhorns. He’s the No. 4 overall recruit and top-ranked wideout in the cycle.

Earlier this week, Metairie (La.) St. Martin’s Episcopal five-star running back Harlem Berry announced that he was staying in-state, as he chose LSU over Texas and Florida. The top-ranked burner is the No. 11 overall prospect in the nation.

“Coach Kelly calls me the best running back, the best in the state, and he’s very complimentary. Everything he talks about — how he wants to use, the energy he gives — it’s very complimentary,” Berry told On3 upon his commitment.

“It makes me feel like if I go there, they’d play me and I would excel on the team,” he continued. “There’s no place like home.”

Five other commits make up the already elite class, as of Jan. 6. Baton Rouge (La.) University Lab four-star linebacker Keylan Moses is a top-200 recruit and the No. 4 player in The Boot. He and Berry are two of five in-state commits for Kelly, Frank Wilson and the Tigers.

Sulphur (La.) four-star tight end JD LaFleur, New Orleans Isidore Newman four-star interior offensive lineman Brett Bordelon and New Orleans Edna Karr four-star WR TaRon Francis are all top-12 players in Louisiana.
