Beaumont (Texas) United offensive tackle Weston Davis has flipped his commitment from Texas A&M to LSU. He was committed to the Aggies since June 26.

Davis is the No. 92 overall prospect and No. 6 offensive tackle in the 2024 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. On3 ranks Davis significantly higher than other recruiting services, as he checks in the latest On300 as a five-star and the No. 18 recruit.

LSU was one of Davis’ finalists upon his original pledge to Texas A&M back in the summer. His final official visit came in Baton Rouge just three days before his decision and the Tigers never wavered in their pursuit.

“At 6-foot-6, 280-pounds with high-end length, Davis is one of the more high upside players at the position in the cycle,” On3’s Director of Scouting and Rankings Charles power wrote of Davis in September. “The Beaumont (Texas) United standout was a basketball-first athlete prior to picking up football midway through his high school career. Davis has shown noticeable strides as a senior. He’s a big-framed, easy mover and plays with a nasty streak.”

Davis has an On3 NIL Valuation of $118K. The On3 NIL Valuation is the industry’s leading index that sets high school and college athletes’ projected annual value (PAV). The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.

Weston Davis Scouting Summary

“Weston Davis is light-footed, flexible offensive tackle with one of the higher developmental upsides among offensive linemen in the 2024 cycle. Measured in at over to 6-foot-5, and north of 280 pounds in the spring prior to his senior year. Has plus length for the position with arms that have measured over 35-inches. Was a basketball-first athlete prior to taking up football in high school. Still relatively new to the game, but has shown considerable upside. Has high-end movement skills. Easily works to the second level as a run blocker and has burst and bounce in his movements.

…Shows budding physicality as a run blocker and works to finish blocks. Has the natural skill set to develop into a gifted pass protector. Will need time to gain strength and mass along with honing his technique. Should benefit from a redshirt year and time in a college strength program. Doubles as a contributor on Beaumont United’s nationally-ranked basketball team.”
