4-star DL Zion Williams commits to LSU Tigers
Lufkin (Texas) four-star defensive lineman Zion Williams has committed to LSU.
He chose the Tigers over the likes of Texas and TCU, while also holding offers from Alabama, Notre Dame, USC, Georgia and Oklahoma, among others.
Williams is the No. 328 overall prospect and No. 29 DL in the 2025 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He’s also the No. 53 player in Texas.

The 6-foot-3, 300-pounder made a pair of trips to Baton Rouge in the spring and also locked in an official visit with Brian Kelly’s program for the beginning of June. Defensive line coach Bo Davis, who returned to LSU from Texas ahead of this season, was instrumental in helping the Tigers land Williams’ pledge.
“I feel like coach Bo had my best intentions and wants to get me to a position where I can support a family when I have one,” Williams told The Bengal Tiger earlier this year. “It meant a lot to me when he says that he thinks that I have 3-year potential, but I’ll get a degree before I leave. I feel like me and him are going to have a great relationship regardless if I play for him or not.”
