LSU jumps in On3 Industry Team Recruiting Rankings after latest commitment
LSU dominated Auburn on Saturday night, turning it one of its most complete football games of the season. The Tigers are rolling on the field as of late, and it’s translating to the recruiting trail as well.
Early Sunday morning, 2025 wide receiver TaRon Francis pledged to Brian Kelly and Co. And roughly 12 hours later, the Tigers added a major piece to their 2024 recruiting class with the commitment of four-star Tucker (Ga.) EDGE CJ Jackson.
His addition also moved LSU from No. 9 in the On3 Industry Team Recruiting Rankings all the way up to No. 6, leapfrogging Florida State, Oregon and Notre Dame in the process.
“LSU has been a dream school for me,” Jackson told On3’s Chad Simmons. “At the end of the day, I want to go to the next level. LSU can definitely help develop me, make me a better player and get me where I want to go. That is what is most important to me.”
The 6-foot-3, 220-pounder is the No. 188 overall prospect in the 2024 class, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.
On3, however, is much higher on him than the other recruiting services. In the most recent On300 rankings, he was tabbed as the nation’s No. 64 overall prospect and No. 7 EDGE.

Jackson joins a loaded Tigers class
LSU is one of just two teams ranked in the top 10 of the recruiting rankings that doesn’t currently have a five-star commitment. But the Tigers are making up for that with one of the nation’s deepest classes.
With Jackson on board, LSU now has 18 blue-chip commitments, the second-most of any program this cycle behind Georgia. 12 of those pledges rank among the top 250 players nationally, and the defensive haul for Kelly and Co. is especially impressive. 10 of the 18 blue-chippers are projected to play on defense in Baton Rouge.
The class that offensive coordinator Mike Denbrock is overseeing is no slouch, either. Four offensive commits rank in the top-250, led by elite tight end Trey’Dez Green, who has been one of the country’s biggest risers this fall. The 6-foot-5, 230-pounder jumped to No. 39 nationally in the latest On300 rankings and could contend for five-star status by the time the season is done.
“Green looks like one of the biggest pass game mismatches in the cycle,” On3 Director of Scouting and Rankings Charles Power wrote last week. “A two-sport star, who earned high major basketball offers early in high school, Green has power forward size and athleticism with the ball in the air. Through four games, we have Green at 21 receptions for 320 yards and four touchdowns. Several of the catches have been extremely impressive, with Green showing high-level coordination and ball skills, manifesting in a large catch radius.”
